Your 3-class learning plan

  1. Class 1: Find your rhythm
Explore On2 timing, the basic step, weight transfer, and comfortable partner connection.
  2. Class 2: Your first right turn
Practice turn preparation, balance, a simple partnered right turn, and returning to the basic.
  3. Class 3: Connect and put it into practice
Review your basic and right turn through guided partner practice, learn to reset when timing is lost, and receive personal feedback. Introduce the cross-body-lead pathway if the group is ready.

This three-class holiday course prioritizes rhythm, the basic, connection, and the right turn. The final class combines review and guided practice; a cross-body-lead introduction depends on readiness. It offers less practice time than the regular four-class course.

Classes meet once a week for 60 minutes. Learn alongside other students, build confidence, and practice communicating with a partner. Partner rotation is encouraged and optional. Your payment-confirmation email includes your purchased course dates and this learning plan.

Before you register

This is a progressive course. Missed classes are not refundable and no makeup class is included. The published dates are the complete schedule for each cycle. December 2026 and January 2027 are reduced-price three-class holiday cycles; Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are not class dates. If Jariel is unavailable for a listed class, a substitute instructor may teach it.

Beginner course FAQ

No. You can enroll and attend on your own; no partner is required.

Is this for complete beginners?

Yes. The course begins with timing and the basic step, then develops progressively across the scheduled Friday classes.

Can I purchase a single drop-in class?

No. Salsa FUN-2-Mentals is sold as one progressive course because each Friday builds on the previous class.

When and where are classes held?

Fridays from 8:00–9:00 p.m. at Something Untouchable Dance Studio, 545 W 145th Street, New York, NY 10031.

How much does the course cost?

The regular four-class beginner course is $75. The December 2026 and January 2027 holiday cycles are $50 for three scheduled classes.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothes you can move in and secure shoes that let you turn comfortably. Avoid footwear that slips off or grips the floor too heavily.
